Spots still available for the 2015 Max Workshop at the Charlotte New Music Festival – June 8-13. We are offering a special 50% discount only to Hackerspace Charlotte members.
Do you like to play with sound? If so, this workshop is for you! No prior experience in programming or musical training is required! (beginner through advanced tracks)
Unlike most music software, Max is completely open-ended, which means that if you can dream it, you can build it. With its visual, intuitive interface, Max makes it easy to start experimenting with sound, and it’s a lot of fun to use!
Participants in this workshop:
Build your own synthesizers, effects units, and samplers
Control sound with anything you can plug in: MIDI controllers, game controllers, Xbox Kinect, or just keyboard and mouse
Listen to, examine, and experiment with music made in Max
Create your own pieces and perform them in our laptop orchestra concert at a pirate-themed bar! (no music experience needed)
What is Max?
“A full kit of creative tools for sound, graphics, music, and interactivity in a visual environment. Today Max is used all over the world in museums, music studios, galleries, universities, art schools, stages, research labs, and anywhere the limits of technology and creativity are being tested.” Video about Max: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeSus3yxfaw
